iPhone PwnageTool Available

April 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The iPhoneDevTeam has now released the PwnageTool that allows all custom firmware to be loaded to an iPhone from within the iTunes interface. Some speculate that this may even allow for the loading of another OS in the future. Engadget has already tested this out on a brand new iPhone unit and they successfully loaded the iPhone software 2.0 beta using PwnageTool. Although I personally will never defile my iPhone’s untouched software and insides, many iPhone users will be very happy about this. I am impatiently waiting for the June public release of iPhone Software 2.0 and third-party apps, but tools as useful and efficient as this make it hard to do so! Tell me what you think about the hacking community and jailbreaking the iPhone in your comments!
